As many who do not know of this title yet… the Singapore produced anime, Thousand Stars and Squalls, have created some commotions after being announced by the people at 77 star, who is currently recruiting Voice Actors for this project…

But what will it be about? Hmm I found a little hint/summary?/preview on 77’s website…

The story from 77 Star Website…

Year 2008, Summer…
I met her in the International Exchange Programme that was held in an
university in Tokyo.
Her name was Mai, an overseas student from a Singapore university who liked
Japan very much.
On a rainy day, I got to know her from a little incident.
As the summer ended, the time for her to return to Singapore had arrived.
Before she returned, I couldn’t express my real feelings towards her….
After she had returned a month later, her letter came. On that letter, there was only one word written on it: ‘arigato’.
I noticed that the word had been rewritten again and again.
I felt that something had been attracted deep inside my heart.
‘I have to express my feelings to Mai…’
Then, I decided to travel to Singapore.
In order to meet Mai once more……

So basically it’s a LOVE story… Soo generic… the preview here is written in the perspective of a guy, unknown name… lol. The summary/trailer is written such that even I can think of a video trailer about it… with just words… and a few pictures… Maybe i’ll make one later with some help… lol. (For some reason, The Leap Year’s OST keep on ringing on my mind…)

And here what I make of the summary soo far…

This guy here fell in love with Mai…(MaiHIME?), a Singaporean, and a Japan Culture Addict… Lover… in a little incident… hmm this I have to see… since almost all “little incidents” have already been used before, from downright little to damm embarrassing, in the anime world of meeting…

A student in one of our ‘many’ Universities… She went to Japan as a exchange student… however unfortunately, her Japanese is not that good… Or is she suffering from an illness… hmm… Arigato…ありがと、有賀と。。。might be anyone of the mentioned…

Poor guy attracted to Mai just because of a letter and it’s to say sorry… For what? That is enough to spur that guy to buy a S$600 plane ticket to Singapore… He must have loved her alot… deep inside that is.
Anyway, this anime is being produced by the 1000 Stars and Squalls Production Committee, which includes, the 77 star and Telecom Animation Film, but sorry no names have been announced yet… Since they are recruiting animators but 1 of the local talent i know off is in the team for now. So if you want to join them scroll to the bottom.

I’ll be looking forward to this project by 77 star and hope they can release some character sketches or even a trailer for this project… Also may this project be commercially viable.
